You blinked, we served

relentlessly.

Yawning coos caressed my soul.

Melodious giggles pierced my heart

we’re doing something right.

First fall, heaven cried gentle whispers, “he’s okay.”

Almost 365 days passed since 7:06pm when God employed us to parent you.

I breathe in your laugh, dance, your essence because 

what we memorize today transcends time’s ebb and flow
