We never thought marriage would be perfect. Yet, we knew we were perfectly suited for each other. My perfect accountability partner.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.–Prov. 27:17
As we continue to become one, we’re facing head on all deeper issues, and it hasn’t been easy. Guess what? I’m thankful. I know Jesus said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light—newsflash, there is still a yoke and burden as we do things His way. The beauty of it is, the biblical way isn’t grievous.
This week has been one of financial surgery and mindset exposure as we did the homework and had intense prayer meetings with one another. Out of that, one thing couldn’t be more clear: we are committed to seeing this through. Not just our finances but also the unity and life of our marriage. We are better understanding our strengths and weaknesses and how that manifests in our money decisions. We’ve decided before the first class that we’ll win. Period.
Have you had moments where you figured you reached a stalemate in your marriage? Maybe everything’s okay in your union but there is another area in your life that is lacking. Whatever the case may be, you can reroute your path to victory. All hope isn’t lost no matter how it looks, feels, or seems. Just remember there is a better way, and choose to walk in it.
Also, remember your success is based on whether or not you choose to win. Things will come to test, try, and tear you apart—as they try us all—but you have to decide before the going gets tough, what side you’ll remain on. Who is the source of your victory? Self or the Lord? One of those options will fail every time. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not the Lord.
My husband and I have our swords unsheathed and are brandishing them side by side, conquering together.
Will you war and conquer too?
Love,
