The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 18:2, KJV
Hey, girl, hey! I hope this second day of May has found you strong in the Lord. But if it didn’t, did you know that there’s an easy way to gain strength again?
For this post, I’ll use this definition for easy–requiring or indicating little effort, thought, or reflection.
Yesterday, we discussed grace and humility, and how they should be the bedrock of our lives. Today, we’re in that same vein for strength.
Two S Words
The secret to strength that we’ve been pouring our heart out are–surrender and submit. Let’s simply define surrender, “to give up oneself completely” and submit, “to defer to or consent to abide by the opinion or authority of another.”
We cannot be strong on our own. True strength is from abiding in Christ. Now, when you read those words, did they sting a little? If so, that’s good! Your spirit is longing for complete surrender and submission to the Lord because He alone is the source of our strength. Our inner man is fortified when we yield in every area to Him.
Let’s choose to worship and praise the Lord, like this psalmist, and lean in on Him for our strength.
Lovingly,
Candace
