Thankful

Have you ever just took a moment to give thanks? Right now I’m watching my son, who should be asleep, giggle and play. Instead of being flustered because he’s not on a schedule, I choose gratitude. After all, he shouldn’t set the tone; that’s on the parents. There was a time when my heart was the only place that would seem as if my longing for motherhood would manifest. I wondered if we’d have our turn and now our blessing is staring me in the face.

I want to leave you with this. Give thanks. No matter how bleak things may appear, or how tired you are, give thanks. I do understand that there are certain times in our lives it’s hard to be thankful, like times of grief. Don’t deny yourself the time you need for that. Just remember one day you’ll be able to breathe a little easier and have a grateful heart again.
