Midday Reset: How to Spiritually Recharge and Realign with God

Hey, girl, hey! From April 23rd to April 30th, we’ll revisit topics covered in earlier posts, staying relevant to what matters now.

Sis, have you ever hit that afternoon slump where you’re physically present but spiritually and emotionally checked out? You’re not alone. Between taking care of your home, your people, your business—or all three—it’s easy to run on empty by lunchtime.

Yesterday, I told the boys, “Mama needs a nap; make sure I get up in 30 minutes.” 😅

Sis, napping while they have the time of their lives is not bad. Rest and recharge however you need for whatever the moment demands.

The truth is: we don’t have to wait until morning or bedtime to reconnect with God. The afternoon is holy ground, too.

Here’s how to pause and hit a spiritual reset midday, finishing your day full of grace:

1. Reset: Step Away to Be Still

📖 “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Pause whatever you’re doing—dishes, emails, or homeschooling—and permit yourself to breathe. Take five to ten minutes alone with God. Step outside, sit by a window, or close your eyes right where you are. Let the noise fade so you can hear His whisper.

Remember, Love, this is not an option. You must reset and recharge away from your sweet little blessings, even for a few minutes. It doesn’t make you a bad mom. It signifies you are in tune with your body, soul, and spirit and willing to do what’s necessary to stay filled with the abiding peace and presence of the Lord.

2. Reflect: Real Talk with the Father

📖 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not..” – Jeremiah 33:3

Take a moment to reflect—what’s weighing on me right now? What do I need to release? Journaling, praying, or sitting in His presence can shift your mindset. You don’t need perfect words—just honesty.

For me, this time of reflection is all about prayer. Remember, prayer isn’t just the words we say; it’s the answer we receive from the Lord. I have my journal nearby to record His answers, but this isn’t about writing my thoughts. It’s all about intimacy and documenting whatever Abba highlights for me to record.

3. Realign: Speak Truth and Move Forward

📖 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:2

Before you jump back into your to-do list, center your heart in truth. Speak a scripture out loud. Play a worship song. Declare a short affirmation like, “God is with me, and I have what I need.”

Seriously, sis, if you need a nap, make time for it. Or do a five-minute workout, some physical activity that helps you center in God’s truth. I do this without apology—because I’m worth it. So are you. We have what we need to start, continue, and finish well. Let’s believe it and walk it out!

You don’t need hours to reconnect with God. A few intentional moments in the afternoon can shift your entire atmosphere. So next time the midday weariness hits, remember—He’s waiting to meet you right where you are.

If this blessed your soul, comment below, “Girl, He gets me!” Let’s celebrate one another as we continue to extend God’s grace to ourselves and others.

In Him,

Candace
